Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Hello, and thank you for visiting Real Deal Mum. Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information I collect when you use realdealmum.co.uk, sign up to my emails, join a waitlist, download a free worksheet or buy something from me, and what I do with it.

1. Who I am

Real Deal Mum is run by Erika Fehervari, based in Surrey, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), I am the "data controller" of your personal information.

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can contact me at:

Email: [erika@realdealmum.co.uk]

2. What information I collect

Information you give me

  • Email sign-ups and newsletter: your email address and, if you choose to give it, your first name.

  • Free worksheet downloads and waitlists: your name and email address so I can send you the download or let you know when a product (such as the Hungarian activity book) is available.

  • Facebook and Instagram sign-up forms: if you sign up through a form on Facebook or Instagram (a Meta "lead form"), Meta passes me the details you submit, usually your name and email address.

  • Orders: if you buy from me, your name, email address, delivery address and order details. Payments are handled securely by the payment provider; I never see or store your full card details.

  • Messages and comments: anything you send me through the contact form, by email, or in blog comments.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, some information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at the site. See section 8 for more on cookies.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing me. Unsubscribing will not affect any order you have already placed.

5. Who I share your information with

I only share your information with trusted service providers who help me run Real Deal Mum, and only as much as they need:

  • Squarespace – hosts the website, collects form submissions, and handles online store orders and email campaigns.

  • Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) – if you sign up through a Facebook or Instagram lead form, or interact with my pages and adverts. If I use the Meta Pixel on my site, Meta may receive information about your visit to help measure and show relevant adverts (only with your cookie consent).

  • Google – Google AdSense displays adverts on the site and Google Analytics may be used to measure visits. Google may use cookies to show adverts based on your visits to this and other websites.

  • Payment providers (such as Stripe or PayPal) – to take payment securely.

  • Printing and delivery partners – to send you physical products you order.

  • Professional advisers and authorities – such as an accountant or HMRC, where needed by law.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and is required to keep your data secure.

6. International transfers

Some of my service providers (for example Squarespace, Meta and Google) are based in, or store data in, the United States or other countries outside the UK. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK–US "Data Bridge", the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or standard contractual clauses approved by the UK Government.

7. How long I keep your information

  • Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete your details. I may also remove inactive subscribers from time to time.

  • Waitlists: until the product launches and for a short period after, unless you have also joined my main email list.

  • Orders: for six years after the end of the tax year in which the order was made, as required for UK tax records.

  • Messages: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and then deleted within 12 months.

8. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. This site uses:

  • Essential cookies – needed for the website and shop to work. These do not need your consent.

  • Analytics cookies – to understand how people use the site.

  • Advertising cookies – used by Google AdSense and, where used, the Meta Pixel to show and measure adverts.

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your cookies or adjusting your browser settings. You can also manage personalised Google adverts at adssettings.google.com and Facebook advert preferences in your Facebook account settings.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal information I hold about you;

  • ask me to correct anything inaccurate;

  • ask me to delete your information;

  • ask me to restrict or object to how I use it;

  • ask for your information in a portable format (data portability);

  • withdraw your consent at any time, where I rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, just email me. I will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.

10. Children

Real Deal Mum is written for parents and adults. The website, emails and sign-up forms are not intended for children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Worksheets and books are designed to be used by children with a parent, but any sign-up or purchase must be made by the adult.

11. Keeping your information safe

I use reputable, secure platforms to store your information and take sensible steps to protect it from loss, misuse or unauthorised access. No method of sending data over the internet is completely secure, but I do my best to keep your details safe.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please contact me first and I will do my best to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint · Helpline: 0303 123 1113

13. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
